A loan helped to buy livestock to increase the income from breeding livestock.

Gulzara's story

This lovely woman Gulzara is sending greetings from the village of Nookat. She is 44 years old, married and raising a son. She has a secondary education.

As the primary income for her family, Gulzara has been engaged in animal husbandry and field crop cultivation since 2000. Thanks to her hard work and with her husband’s help, today her farm has 6 cows and 0.1 hectares of irrigated land, on which she grows organic potatoes.

Planning to develop further her farm, she is asking for support from Kiva to lend her 150,000 som (KGS) to purchase cattle to increase income from livestock breeding.

The income from the loan will help her expand her farm by increasing the number of thoroughbred cows and also to buy a new house.
