A loan helped to buy sheets and vases.

Denise Alejandra's story

43-year old Denise is married and has an adult son and two younger children aged 16 and 6. Her husband works at a fish-processing plant. They live in Manta, one of the most important towns for business and tourism on the coast of Ecuador. However, it has been seriously affected by the pandemic.

Denise is an enterprising woman who makes an effort every day to help her husband with household expenses. For that reason she started a business a year ago selling sheets and vases in the streets. Currently with help from her children she is selling through social media because of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, business is not good because of health concerns, and her income has fallen drastically. Now Denise is seeking a new loan in order to reactivate her business.

The loan money will be used to buy sheets and vases. Denise's dream is to see her business return to profitability and to see her financial situation improve.
