A loan helped to buy mulberry for her tapa-making business.

Momoio's story

Momoio, 43 years old, is married with three adult children and one grandchild. The family lives in their own home. Momoio, together with the help of her husband and two daughters, runs several businesses: selling soft tapa (a patterned cloth made from the bark of the mulberry tree), making tapa, making kiekie (an ornamental woman's girdle) and growing sandalwood.

Momoio has applied for this loan from SPBD specifically for her tapa-making business. She is a member of a group of women in her village, and together they make tapas once every week. She not only makes tapas for sale, but also for family and church functions.

Momoio is a very active center chief and is also responsible for the goodness of the center members and their businesses. She encourages women to start and run their own business and avoid depending on someone. A good house and overseas market for her business is her dream.
