A loan helped a member to purchase the ACE 1 hybrid energy system for cooking, lighting and charging in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Mahoeane Group's story

Mataoana is a 57-year-old woman who lives in a multi-bedroom house, without access to electricity, with five other family members including three children. Mataoana works as a village nurse but struggles with buying multiple fuel and insufficient income. She spends the most amount of her energy expenses on paraffin and gas, which costs up to LSL 460 per month. She also spends as much as one hour per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.

Mataoana and the other members of the group in this village each bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help them save the money they spend every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass and solar powered. For more information on the ACE1 cookstove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy
