A loan helped to purchase corn, rice, sugar, and other raw materials which will allow her to make a greater variety of atoles [corn-based beverages] to sell.

Maria Aracely's story

María is legally married but in reality, she is separated from her spouse. She lives with her child. She does not get any financial help from abroad. María says that, with the help of her family, she learned to make the different types of atoles [corn-based beverages] and, 23 years ago, she chose to open her own business in which she would sell this product. She works from one to five in the afternoon.

María asks for a loan and, with the financial contribution that this will give her, she will be able to purchase corn, rice, sugar, and other raw materials which will allow her to make a greater variety of atoles to sell. The investment she will make is with the goal of improving the service she offers her customers.

Her greatest desire is to make important repairs on her house so to provide her family with a better quality of life.
