A loan helped a member to buy rams to sell in order to take care of their family's healthcare.

Kotognogontala Group's story

Alima is a Malian woman who is holding the ram with her hand in the photo. She is 40 years old, married, and the mother of 7 children, 2 of which are in school. Her children are from 2 to 17 years old.

Alima is not educated. She is a housewife and has been raising sheep for 4 years. Her husband also raises animals and helps a lot with this work.

Now she wishes to develop this work with financing from a RMCR loan. She is taking out a loan with RMCR to buy sheep, to raise them, and to resell them. She gets her stock from surrounding fairs and resells at these same fairs.

After the sale, she can make 75,000 CFAF in profits. These earnings from the sale of sheep can allow her to support different expenses: health, education, and clothing costs for her children. The problem that she runs into is the death of the animals but she is in the process of finding solutions to overcome this difficulty.

In the future, Alima hopes to have more financing to become autonomous, and to have lots of profit in order to better prepare for her children’s future.
