A loan helped a member to buy additional produce like maize and beans to sell.

Kyehemba Turihamwe Group Of Kyenjojo's story

It’s now two-and-a-half years since an evergreen and enterprising N. Christopher embarked on his produce sales business in Kyakaitaba in Kyenjojo district.

With nostalgia, this 47-year-old happily married father of seven kids recalls how his business basked in high profit returns at its onset. Times have changed, however, as his business now has diminishing returns. A testament is the 30,000 shillings he is earning now. This is in sharp contrast to the 100,000, he says he was making at the start of his business.

There is always a story connected with people in western Uganda who, despite laboring under such tough times, find a way of educating their children. Christopher is no exception. What he is looking forward to now is the prospect of enhancing his business by buying more maize, beans, cassava and other crops with the proceeds of this loan.
