A loan helped a member to purchase merchandise to stock up a clothing business, like dresses, skirts, tops, shorts, blouses, pants, shoes etc.

Gs El Tesoro Grupo Group's story

Luisa lives in a "batey" in San Pedro de Macorís Province in the Dominican Republic. "Bateyes" are very impoverished communities primarily populated by Haitian immigrants.

Luisa is a 28-year old enterprising young woman. She is the mother of four children and started out selling ice-cream. Over time, the business wasn't profitable for her, and she needed a better income. So Luisa decided to start a business selling clothing, such as dresses, skirts, tops, shorts, pants, blouses, footwear and other items. This business generates an income that helps Luisa support her family.

Luisa hopes to one day have a prosperous business and get out of the cycle of poverty that she and her family have lived. Luisa is requesting this loan to purchase merchandise and stock up her business.
