Martha's story

Meet 49-year-old Martha from Liberia. She is married with seven children. She never had the opportunity to attend school. All of her children are currently attending school while living at home.

Martha runs business where she sells rice, red oil, pepper and other items. She has dealt in this business for the past 20 years now and works 12 hours per day, six days a week. For the time being, she has had no problem with her business.

She requested this loan from Brac to purchase more rice, red oil, pepper and other items to sell and increase her business.

She says that the extra income from this loan will help improve their standard of living. She is so proud of her business because it help improves her standard of living.

In the future, she would like to improve her business and to continue educating her children. She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
