Cecilia's story

I am from a small town in Zacatecas, Mexico known as Valparaiso in central Mexico. I come from a big family with 5 brothers and one sister. My parents had their own farm which they grew corn from as well as having my siblings and I learn the values of hard work from milking the cows every morning to just working in the corn fields. I never saw myself leaving Valparaiso but in 1997 I got married and moved to Arizona with my husband. I spent 17 years cleaning houses in Scottsdale, Arizona and would dream of having my own restaurant. Over the course of some years I started to save money to follow my dream and open my own spot. After my husband and I divorced I decided to move to Oakland, CA to be closer to my family. I continued working as a house cleaner to gain all the money I needed to make my dream come true. Now I am truly blessed to say I am the proud owner of my very own restaurant in Oakland, CA

This loan is special because:
