A loan helped a member to stock up wholesale with four containers of oil to boost her initial capital.

Penouel Group's story

Marungu is a customer of IMF Hekima and president of the "Penouel" Banc Villageois. She is 52 years old, married and mother to seven children, who are all at school. Her husband is a carpenter.

She sells spices and began this business in 1996 with an initial capital given to her by her brother. Later on she joined Hekima's loan program to help her with her activity.

With this new loan she is going to buy four containers of oil wholesale to boost her initial capital. The challenge in her business relates to the moment the market price falls.

She would like to refurbish her house. Finally she thanks Hekima and its partners for the support they provide to entrepreneurs who cannot access bank funding.
