A loan helped to purchase mulch.

Mayers's story

Mayers is a repeat customer of UGAFODE Microfinance Ltd. It’s his fifth loan with UGAFODE and he is full of praise for the previous loans. He lives in a rural town of Nyabitekyere, Kakanju, Bushenyi District in the Western Region of Uganda. He is mainly a farmer growing bananas and coffee as his major source of income. He is again seeking a Kiva loan through UGAFODE worth 3,000,000 UGX (three million shillings).

Mayers is also a teacher at a local primary school where he gets a salary as an additional income.

With the loan, he will buy mulches for his coffee and banana plantation in order to boost production and will be able to pay school fees for his children through improved income from his business.

Thanks to the loan, however, he can be able to meet his family needs. In the near future, he hopes to expand on his plantation by planting more coffee and bananas and is thankful to the lenders for the support that allowed him to be successful in his business.

This loan is special because:

It helps expand environmentally aware agriculture.
