A loan helped to buy fertilizer for her new crops.

Ligaya's story

Ligaya is a 54-year-old farmer residing in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija. She is a widow and blessed with three children who are still pursuing their studies.

Ligaya has been engaged in farming and raising pigs for almost 31 years to make a living. She also manages a small convenience store located in her barangay (village). Ligaya has been a good-paying client of Alalay sa Kaunlaran, Inc. (ASKI) for about eleven years. Her previous loan helped her to improve her pigs' growth.

Ligaya has been granted another loan of 50,000 PHP under ASKI's agricultural loan program. She will use her loan to buy fertilizer for her new crops. Ligaya's dream is to expand her farm to create employment to help farmers. She hopes that, with the help of ASKI and KIVA lenders, it will come true.
