A loan helped a member to buy pesticides.

Ojune Iswaim Farmers Group's story

Mary is a 55-year-old female Ugandan living in Soroti. She is married with four children who all attend school. Together with her husband, they grow maize and beans.

She is requesting a loan from VisionFund Uganda to buy pesticides to spray her crops and overcome pests and diseases that affect the yield.

"I believe with pesticides my farm will flourish and get a higher yield which I will sell to start up a poultry farm. With my age right now, in a few years to come I will not be able to dig but take care of domestic activities, so I choose poultry." states Mary.

God-fearing and hardworking as she describes herself, Mary is grateful to Kiva for the financial support.
