A loan helped to buy manure and seed.

Walter's story

Walter, 21, is an enterprising young man, who lives in his own home with his parents: Mauro, 45 and Reída, 47.

He has, as examples, his parents, who are hard-working, honorable people, who daily teach him farming techniques for efficient labor.

For the past 6 years, Walter has farmed peas, broad beans, potatoes and corn with his parents. What he likes best about his work is plowing the fields because, as he says, he always feels that he's planting hope or a new life that will bear abundant fruit because he works his fields with much love. On the other hand, these last few months he has had to struggle against the inclement weather which, if he's not attentive and careful, can wreak havoc with his crops.

He isn't frightened by these adversities, however. He is confident that the next harvest will increase his earnings because, in farming, there are no losses, especially if you provide the proper care to your plantings. For the future, he plans to increase his production, to become a wholesale merchant, and to sell his merchandise all the way to Perú's capital, Lima.

This is his second loan with MFP. His responsibility and punctuality has won over the trust of all his fellow communal bank members, with whom he enjoys working. The money requested, 1000 new soles, will be used to buy pea seed and several sacks of manure.
