These eight women created a banc villageois in December 2015; they are from the same area and are a close-knit group. These women work primarily in commerce.
At 47, Madam Fatou is the group's representative. She can be found in the left of the photograph with her hand raised. She is married and the mother of five children, including a daughter. All her children are employed; her daughter is a seamstress, two of her sons are tailors, and the other two are an electrician and a mechanic.
Madam Fatou sells fish, which she purchases from fishermen and resells at the local market. She has over a decade of experience in this business.
With this loan, Madam Fatou plans to purchase 18 cases of fresh fish and ice to preserve them. She will be able to sell them without difficulty due to her loyal clientele.
The proceeds of her sales will allow her to contribute to her savings at the banc villageois and to cover her expenses.
In this group: Nogaye, Aïda, Thioro, Ndéye Mariètou, Khady, Yacine, Daba, Ndéye Dieumbeute
