Patirisha is a 59-year-old grandmother who works very hard to support her family. She resides in Goromonzi with her husband, who is paralyzed. She runs a variety of projects at her homestead and ensures that all the household expenses are catered to with the revenue she earns from her business projects.
Patirisha rears chickens and has a well-built fowl run that accommodates over 500 birds. She ventured into the business more than ten years ago when she had to take responsibility and carry out the duties of the family.
She is a member of the Microwave Group that began to work with Thrive in 2017. The group is composed of four women who run the same business of rearing chickens. These women prefer this line of work as it has a quick turn out for revenue. They get to deliver the chickens at local schools and to the community.
Patirisha has managed to work in different businesses and has been able to try out new projects, including fish farming and a florist business. The group is currently on the fourth loan cycle and Patirisha used her share to buy chicken feed.
