A loan helped to purchase sand, cement, bricks and equipment to build a toilet.

Dung's story

Mrs. Dung is 35 years old and married. She is an ethnic minority living in Cam Thuy district, a mountainous region of Thanh Hoa province, very far from a center. She speaks ethnic minority languages and rarely goes out of the village, so she has no opportunity to access financial services.

She has worked in agriculture, raising poultry for more than 10 years. Her family is a low-income household in the village. Moreover, this region often suffers from natural disasters such as floods and drought.

One of the most critical difficulties that concerns her is not having a hygienic latrine, but her income is not enough to get a new one. She is requesting a loan to purchase sand, cement, bricks and equipment to build a toilet.

This is Dung's first loan with Thanh Hoa Microfinance Institution. Dung hopes for her family to be healthy and happy, for her children to do well in school, and for her business to do well.

This loan is special because:

It supports women from ethnic communities and single parent families.
