A loan helped to buy different varieties of cereals such as lentils, cow peas, maize, sorghum, barley, and millet to sell in the local market to make a commission and improve her life.

Josika's story

Juhudi Kilimo is celebrating hardworking mothers, such as Josika, (pictured in her shop above), who resides in the Kakamega area of Kenya.

With the joy that is characteristic of Josika, she goes to her mixed farm every day. She has wide experience in farming. She has mastered farming activities from growing and harvesting, to earning income from her crops.

Josika lives in a humble home, along with her family. She has been doing agriculture for the past few years now. She makes money selling products from her farm, including milk and crops. She enjoys plowing her farm and watering her plants.

With the loan, she plans to buy cereals, which she will sell to her neighbours and to the local market. Her village has a high demand for cereals, but the biggest problem is that the supply is low. With the loan, she will be able to meet the demand.

Through training from Juhudi Kilimo, she has learned about the culture of saving, and she plans to use the increased income to improve her cereal business. This loan will go a long way in changing the lives of Josika and her family. She dreams of giving her children the best education she can.
