A loan helped to help her husband to buy a new rickshaw body so the rickshaw could drive smoothly.

Shazia's story

Shazia is a 29-year-old married woman, living with her two children and spouse in the area of Lahore, Pakistan.

Her husband had been driving an auto rickshaw that did not belong to him. With the help of savings, he has purchased a used auto rickshaw. Its engine quality is good but the body is totally damaged. He does not have a sufficient amount to buy a new body. He wants to start driving but is looking for a lump sum amount to buy a rickshaw body.

Therefore Shazia requested a loan for her husband so that he can buy a new rickshaw body and could drive the rickshaw smoothly.

She hopes that now her husband would be able to obtain more income because now he does not have any need to pay a daily fare to anyone. She and her husband are seen in this picture with the rickshaw.

Shazia is very happy after taking this loan. She thanks Kiva and field partner BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
