A loan helped to buy inputs that will boost production on Winnie's farm.

Winnie's story

Winnie describes herself as honest. She has two children and has grown and sold tomatoes mostly to locals for the past four years. Her farm is in a good area, but her biggest challenge is inadequate working capital.

Winnie has applied for a 50,000 KES loan to buy farm inputs that will boost production. This is her second loan through Kiva's field partner SMEP Microfinance Bank, and that one was repaid successfully. She will use the anticipated profits to buy more farm inputs.

This loan is special because:

It increases agricultural production capacity of Kenyan farmers.
