A loan helped to buy coal and firewood, and with a part of the loan, guinea pigs and hens.

Maria Julia's story

Julia is 52 years old and is characterized as hard working, enterprising, and sociable. She lives with her son and dedicates her efforts to selling coal and firewood half the time, and during the other half, she raises guinea pigs, calves and pigs to sell.

By selling coal, she has seen her business become more productive. For that reason, Julia is requesting a small amount of help to purchase coal, firewood and, with a part of the loan, guinea pigs and hens.

In this manner, Julia hopes to generate sufficient income to cover household expenses, and also, to stimulate the necessary earnings to improve her humble house and make it more secure.
