A loan helped a member to restock her salon with synthetic hair, extensions, weaves and relaxers.

Kisa Kya Mukama Group's story

Madina, age 45, is a single mother of four children and all of them attend school. She is a member of Kisa Kya Mukama group (translated as God's grace), which she also chairs. The group members formed this group to support each other in terms of finances and business advice. They carry out different economic activities with a common goal of economic transformation.

Madina has a salon in Mulago, a business she started in 2014 to provide for her children after losing her husband. Since she is the sole bread winner, sometimes she finds herself using part of the working capital to fund the educational costs of her children. This has left her with insufficient funds to stock enough salon items.

She has therefore applied for a loan from UGAFODE to buy more items to sell and also use at the salon. She is hopeful that her sales will increase, which will provide her with enough funds to look after her family.

Madina and the other group members appreciate the funders for the financial support.
