Jose Danilo's story

Señor José, age 34, lives with his family in the community of La Guama, which is part of the municipality of Santa Cruz de Yojoa.

Don José has worked in agriculture for 15 years, especially in the cultivation of pineapple, which always has generated good income for the family's well-being, because his crops are of good quality. He also has a metal shop that generates income.

Don José is requesting the loan to give good maintenance to his pineapple cultivation, and to plant another parcel. He wishes to buy fertilizer, mulch, and herbicides, and to pay laborers, and to obtain a better harvest producing quality pineapple.

His dream is to continue producing quality pineapple and to improve his income for the well-being of his family.

This loan is special because:

It has a below-market interest rate and is repaid at harvest, when farmers can more easily repay.
