Silveria is 39 years old, single, and works in agriculture. She works growing plantains and coffee in the province of Caranavi, in the northern part of La Paz department, better known as the tropical paradise to the north of La Paz.
She lives in a house within her farmland. Her primary source of income has been the agricultural production of plantains and coffee for seven years. She sells the coffee according to the season, on the other hand the plantains are year-round. In this way, she assures her income. Her work is manual and she does it independently.
With this loan, she wants to increase her coffee production. The advantage which she has is that she gathers the harvest and sells it according to the supply and demand in the local market and in the city of La Paz. The primary difficulty which comes up is beginning with the preparatory work of the land. She needs to purchase organic soil amendments to plant the coffee seedlings, which are ready to be planted.
Her dream is to be able to purchase farmland and increase her agricultural production.
This is the first loan she has accessed, which she will invest in her production.
