Jennebah's story

Meet Jennebah, 39 years old. She is married with one child. The child of Jennebah is 6 years old, and lives at home while in school.

Jennebah sells dry goods such as mayonnaise, rice, vita, milk, tooth paste, soap, and other items. She started this business with few skills and is proud of the progress. She learned this trade from her aunty. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site.

She has been a hardworking business woman for 8 years now without any problems. She sells from 7:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the evening. She enjoys her business because it gives her money and keeps her busy.

To add to her business, Jennebah applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, Kiva's field partner. The loan will be used to buy more dry goods to sell to her good clients. In the future she wants to increase her business and build her house. She wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
