A loan helped to purchase sand, cement, bricks, and equipment to build a toilet.

Quế's story

Mrs. Quế is 35 years old and is married with two children. She is an ethnic minority living in Cam Thuy district, a mountainous region of Thanh Hoa province, very far from a center. She speaks ethnic minority languages and rarely goes out of the village, so she has no opportunity to access financial services.

She has worked in agriculture farming food for more than 10 years. Her income is lower than the national average income; moreover, the market need is low in this region.

One of the most critical difficulties that concerns her is that the latrine is not hygienic, but her income is not enough to get a new one. She is requesting a loan to purchase sand, cement, bricks, and equipment to build a toilet.

This is Quế's first loan with Thanh Hoa Microfinance Institution. Quế hopes for her family to be healthy and happy, for her business to do well, and for her children to do well in school.

This loan is special because:

It supports women from ethnic communities and single parent families.
