A loan helped a member to restock from Botswana and Zambia to meet her different orders.

Munzamvari Group's story

Stella is one young woman who has a different but strong personality. She is hardworking, zealous and willing to learn. This personality has seen her through a lot of life challenges.

She is a 27-year-old mother of three children. The circumstances of life saw her into an early marriage, but life had other plans for her. She is separated, and she has learned to work hard for her children.

She stays in Bindura, a city which is 100 km out of Harare. Although she got separated from her husband, she made it a point not to become a charity case to her relatives and not to depend on the maintenance money that would come and sometimes not. Hence, she looked for something to do that would give her good income. This is how she persistently pursued her cross-border trade business. What she needed was capital and customers to start, and she has maintained her business for almost six months now. She restocks in Botswana and Zambia monthly. She has no speciality, but she restocks as per orders. Since most people have challenges paying instantly, she also does credit sales and she makes sure to keep records of these for follow-up purposes. She has also learned to adjust to the cashless society that Zimbabwe has turned into, which has also resulted in the survival of her business.

The passion to see her business grow made her to come to Thrive for funding. Stella got a loan of $300 to meet her new orders.
