Huong is 21 years old, married, and the young mother of an infant. She lives with her husband and daughter in a small house in Ang Nua, Dien Bien, an area which is surrounded by many mountains. Her family mostly relies on agricultural activities for living, as do other villagers. Local farmers face many challenges, among them lack of capital and crop failure. This is the first time Huong has requested a loan from the Anh Chi Em program, and she will use it to buy more rice land and fertilizer to use growing rice. She hopes that with the support of a consultant from the Anh Chi Em team, she will have a great harvest. This will help her family gradually improve its living conditions and give her beloved daughter a better life. In the picture, she is the first person on the right.
