A loan helped a member to buy palm oil and baobab fruit.

Adama's Group's story

This group of 10 women is part of a banc villageois that was inaugurated in February 2001. They mainly run commercial activities selling various goods.

Khadidiatou is the group's representative. She is the lady standing on the right and raising her hand. She is 36 years old and married with two daughters. She has been a merchant for many years. She plans to use her new loan to buy three 20-liter jugs of palm oil and bags of baobab fruit to make ice cream that she will sell out of her home and at the market.

Her profits will allow her to help her husband to cover day-to-day expenses and their children's tuition and healthcare, and to bolster her savings.

In this group: Adama, Amy Sao, Mariama, Adama , Hortence, Tida , Amie, Awa, Hady, Khadidiatou
