A loan helped to set up her husband's carpentry shop by renting a shop and by purchasing wooden raw materials, a wood cutter machine and tools.

Saima's story

Saima is the age of 35 and is living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan, along with her three children and spouse. She is pictured with her husband.

He has been carpentering in a firm and now wants to set up his own shop on partnership. He wants to rent a shop and wants to buy tools and a wood cutter machine. He has been receiving a very low salary; that is why he could not save sufficient cash.

This is the reason Saima has requested a Kiva loan from field partner BRAC Pakistan so her husband can set up his carpentry business on partnership by renting a shop and by purchasing initial wooden material and tools.

Saima is very happy after receiving this loan and thankful to Kiva and field partner BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
