Katia is married and lives with her husband and two-year-old daughter. For four years Katia has been running a tortilla business which she learned about years ago thanks to her mother. For now she works alone in the business; her greatest advantage is that she is very well-known in the area where she lives.

She is applying for a loan to strengthen her business by buying corn, lime and firewood wholesale to stock raw materials. The investment will very helpful in providing good customer service and meeting demand. She hopes to have a more competitive, profitable business to earn an income to cover her family's needs.
