Mama Amka Group's story

Christine is a merchant selling basic products in her home on a busy avenue in town. The president of the 'banc villageois' called “Mama Amka” and a client of the microfinance institution Hekima, she is 49, married, and the mother of eight children, all attending school.

She is going to stock up with sugar, salt, Omo soap, oils, and soft drinks to bolster her business and provide basic necessities for her customers. She received initial financing from her husband three years ago. She plans to switch businesses and to provide an education and food for her children. So she thanks Hekima and its partners for supporting unbanked entrepreneurs. It should be noted that certain customers are carrying their babies.
