Djstormin's story

Norman McHugh is the Founder and Executive Producer of Sundae Sermon Music Festival, one of New York City’s most anticipated summer music festivals based in Harlem with attendance upwards of 7000 people. Past performers include Legendary DJs like Louie Vega, Tony Humphries and Pete Rock to name a few. Seven years running with attendees that read like the who’s who of NYC including Rosie Perez, Leon, Bevy Smith of Fashion Queens and most importantly of all the everyday residents of Harlem.

McHugh was born in London but moved to the States as a teenager. His early DJ career began as he selected records for his family’s weekend get togethers. While in college McHugh created a weekly college party from this opportunity. Soon WBLS 107.5 came calling after hearing him at the parties. Living in New York City McHugh as DJ Stormin’ Norman has been blessed to play in legendary Clubs from the Roxy, Limelight, and Lotus to The Hudson, Cielo, Miami’s Dorchester Hotel and LA’s The Standard Downtown rooftop. He went on to DJ/Host HGTV, MTV, Centric, BET, WBLS 107.5 FM, Wendy Williams (Soul Train Awards Promo), and CBS among other events and venues. Now Sundae Sermon is a much-anticipated event in Harlem for residents and participants from around the world.
