A loan helped to restock groceries for her shop.

Wadzanai's story

Wadzanai is involved in the business of buying and selling groceries. She has a small grocery shop at one growing business area called Domboshava just outside Harare. Currently she has one employee who is mainly responsible for the day to day running of the business. On the other hand, Wadzanai takes on the administrative role of the business. She moves around Harare Central Business District looking for the cheapest shop to restock from.

She is a 33 year old woman who stays in Glaudina, Harare. She is married; her husband is a self-employed buying and selling grain. They have been married for 10 years now and they have 2 children.

There is a considerable number of grocery stalls at the area where Wadzanai is operating her business. She survives the market competition through stocking a variety of groceries in various quantities. She is therefore looking for ways to reduce her costs in order to charge lower prices. This can be attained through reducing restocking frequencies and opting to restock in bulk. She used her loan portion to restock groceries for her shop.
