Jason's story

My name is Jason Bolden-Anderson. I am a 32 year old husband and father of a wonderful 10 month old boy. I grew up as the only child of a single mom. My mom is a large part of my success. She is a black successful attorney with her own practice. Watching her always gave me the motivation to do for myself and to love what I do. The Gamer's Guild was a dream of mine when I was in college and I worked on plans for it throughout my senior year. When I graduated I knew it was what I wanted to do. I worked in gaming while in college and knew I could do better than what I saw. The Guild started as a game testing company and grew from there as we worked on larger and more high profile projects for other tech companies. It was a long struggle and throughout the struggles of a terrible first contract and a long drought of work where I struggled to make ends meet. Through all of this my wife and my mother have been my rocks.

I grew up in Oakland California and have always been proud of my city. I always wanted to showcase the beauty of the city and promised that when I started my business Oakland would be at its core. City Quest was a way to showcase a city that is largely misunderstood but could be looked at differently if people explored it. City Quest is my way of doing that. To bring attention to a city that I love, to encourage people to explore their cities, and to make a superior, innovative, and entertaining game that I hope the world will love, because I love making it.
