A loan helped a member to buy seeds and agricultural supplies to plant three 'manzanas' [a manzana is about 1.74 acres] of corn.

Buena Vista Group's story

Flora is 50 years old, and she lives with her husband. They have four children, and they are all grown. During the past years she has worked together with her husband growing basic crops. Through the agricultural activities she has been able to get ahead. She has done field work since she was a girl. It is work that she did with her parents, and she has continued doing it.

With this loan she hopes to cultivate 3 'manzanas' [a manzana is about 1.74 acres] of corn. She is very happy because, if given adequate agricultural management, she will be able to get greater production. This way she will generate more earnings for her family.

In the future she wants to continue with her crops but with more land in order to hire her children on her farm.

In this group: Flora, Kenny, Carmelo, Mercedes, Ciro, Melvin
