A loan helped to buy supplies for his coffee plantation, with which he can improve his family's financial situation.

Otoniel's story

Otoniel (shown in the picture with his wife Jerling), is a small coffee grower in northern Nicaragua. He has nine hectares of land, 2.89 of which he uses to grow coffee in a rural region far from the city center. He attends to his land with his wife. He previously worked as a laborer on different farms, making it possible to buy a small parcel of land which he has worked for ten years.

With the effects of climate change, Otoniel has decided to carry out his plan to improve the nutritional condition of his plantation. This year he is requesting a loan to buy supplies that his coffee farm requires. With them, he foresees having a good harvest and better income to continue improving his family's condition.
