Terri's story

I am a 100% Native Hawaiian who was born and raised in a Native Hawaiian community on the Island of Hawaii. Hawaiians have the highest percentage of disparities in health, income, incarceration, education, etc. and are yet the 4 the largest population in the Census of Hawaii. My desire to help the Native Hawaiian community started a journey to become educated and create a space of productivity and success for other Native Hawaiians in business and economics. I finished college while raising three children as a single parent, attaining a Bachelor in Business Administration and an AS Degree in Carpentry. I am the Vice President of Pele Defense Fund, a Native Hawaiian Organization whose mission is to preserve and protect Hawaiian customary traditions and practices, environment and resources. After I received my degrees, my dream was to become an entrepreneur. In 2015, I started Papa Mu Native Hawaiian LLC. Papa Mu specializes in authentic food products. I’ve been selling Papa Mu Native meats to wholesalers and retailers across the Hawaiian islands for two years.
