A loan helped to repair her son's taxi engine.

Kousar's story

Kousar is a 53-year-old, married woman living with her husband and eight children in the area of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Her elder son drives a taxi which does not belong to him; he has to pay the daily fare to the taxi owner.

Kousar stands with the taxi and her son to see in back with the taxi. A few days ago he got an engine problem during driving and the taxi got in serious condition. The taxi owner is imposing a penalty upon him which is out of his earnings capacity. He wants to repair the taxi so that he could compensate the problem.

Therefore, Kousar requested a loan from BRAC Pakistan, which is a field partner of Kiva. Kousar hopes that through this amount, her son would be able to repair the taxi and drive it again smoothly.

Kousar belongs to a poor family; her son is the only single earning person and does not have any other source of income.

Kousar seems very glad; she thanks Kiva and field partner BRAC Pakistan.
