A loan helped to buy wheat, potato seeds and mineral fertilizer for her farming business.

Marhabo's story

Marhabo was born in 1970, is widowed, and has children. For the last fifteen years, she has earned a living as a farmer. She has her own business. She sows watermelon, wheat, maize, corn, onions, potatoes and other crops on a rented hectare plot. She loves her job and is the family's main breadwinner. Her children help her with the business. Also she deals with animal husbandry. She has a dairy cow which is feeding at her barn. In addition she deals with sewing.
With the time for sowing a new crop approaching, Marhabo lacks the funds to buy wheat, potato seeds and mineral fertilizer for her farming business. This is why she is seeking a loan of 4,000 TJS. She is a returning client and has positive credit history. It is her seventh request to Kiva’s field partner IMON. She is grateful to have the support of the Kiva lenders.
