Heidi's story

Barn Owl Vintage is run by two women who are mothers, entrepreneurs, bloggers and friends. We created this business model because we love vintage treasures, realized people often don't know the value of their antique and retro items and knew our appraisal knowledge could help.
Founder Heidi LeVell lives in the mountains of Northern California with her husband, 4 children, 15 chickens, 2 Great Pyrenees dogs and 4 rescued cats. She has been involved in estate liquidations for 19 years and also has prior experience as a licensed auctioneer. Heidi handles appraisals, estate evaluations & customer contacts. Her favorite part of her job is how she gets to connect with families and help them get honest appraisals.
She has been profiled in Fortune Magazine, MSNBC and CNN as an estate and antiques expert. She was also featured in several episodes of the TV show Pawn Stars, including one of the most viewed episodes where she sold a 17th century Flemish Crossbow. In her spare time, Heidi is an avid cook and collects early California pottery.
Co-Founder Hannah LaBudde is mom to an active 7 year old daughter and 3 rescued cats. She handles much of the behind the scenes action at Barn Owl. Inventory, estate organization, and photography are a few of the areas that benefit from her expertise. Besides spending her time in dusty attics hunting for vintage treasure, Hannah handles all the shipping for Barn Owl Vintage and makes sure items are professionally packaged. In her spare time she hikes the many local mountain trails, cooks from scratch and travels.
