A loan helped to buy chicks and feed to enable her to fulfill a large contract.

Shupikai's story

Shupikai is full of zeal and energy to do her poultry business. She is a married mother of three children, with two of them at University, which means a heavy responsibility for paying school fees. She stays at her own house in Budiriro, Harare, together with her three children and her husband.

She said that her business has been growing slowly like any other small business, but she decided to take her business to another level by joining Thrive in January 2017. She received business advice and went on to get an individual loan, which she wants to use to expand her poultry project and increase her profits. Shupikai got a contract of supplying 100 chickens every week to a small restaurant in the central Harare, so she is confident that this loan will help her to produce more chickens so that she can meet the demand from the restaurant.

Shupikai is very positive that this loan will increase her profits, and she promises to work very hard so that she can repay her loan well and maintain a good relationship with Thrive and its partners.
