A loan helped a member to purchase six lengths of traditional pagne cloth.

Ukweli Group's story

Odetta is a client of IMF Hekima. She is a female vendor who goes door-to-door reselling various items of clothing. She is also the president of the Ukweli banque villageoise. She is a 68-year-old widowed mother to six children, one of whom is currently attending school while the remaining five are already adults.

She started this business 20 years ago with capital given to her by her husband while he was still alive. She wants to purchase six lengths of pagne cloth in order to bolster her business. She hopes to be able to build her own home, pay for her child's school fees and make sure her children are all fed.

Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and their partners for the support they give to entrepreneurs excluded from the traditional banking system.
