A loan helped a member to buy fishing nets.

Las Cariñosas De Kalaque Group's story

The communal bank called “Las Cariñosas de Kalaque” is starting its fourth loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Copacabana Regional Office. It is made up of eight members and is run by a board of directors of which Alejandra is the chair.

The loan they are taking out will benefit small micro-entrepreneurs where Alejandra is a member. She currently has a business selling fish and she points out that she started the business several years ago on her own initiative.

This loan will be to increase capital to buy fishing nets that she will purchase from vendors in the community. They will then become a production tool. This type of work allows her to generate income to support her family financially, as she is married and has five children.

In this group: Alejandra , Bernardo, Faviola, Antonia, Cristina, Jorge, Yobana, Claudia Elena
