A loan helped a member to restock more sewing materials.

Seth Group's story

Glender is a 44-year-old lady residing in Glenorah, one of the old suburbs in Harare. Having being raised by her grandmother, she is a single lady who has seen it all in life.

Glender acquired some knitting and sewing skills from her grandmother. Their normal day would start with going to the textile mills where they got cotton, wool, and materials. They would then spend the next month making clothes and garments. After several years of struggle, Glender managed to buy two standard sewing machines of her own, and opened a mini roadside shop near her home, where she sells her clothes and groceries.

Glender met ladies from her community, joined Thrive, and formed a group called Seth. They received business training, and took a loan amounting to $1,050. Glender wants to use her portion of the loan amount to restock her sewing materials. She also said she had a long-term plan to open a boutique in the central business district of Harare selling clothes.
