A loan helped me greatly improve the production of my chocolate and sweets by automating the manufacturing process.

Scott's story

I’ve taken a rather round-about path to this place in my life. I’ve worked a dozen jobs, starting with a paper route at the age of thirteen. I joined the Navy after a couple of years of college in order to see some of the world and then got back to college quickly thereafter. All the while, I was baking cookies for friends, and myself, and learning to bake cakes and a few pastries. It is always satisfying to see the results of cookies. I worked at a desk job for ten years, before culinary school (I always brought the dessert to office potlucks). The desk job drove me to apply to culinary school. It was rarely satisfying to see the result of creating paperwork.

Culinary school was a revelation. The passion that I saw in the instructors and the students made me realize that my future was here. Every day we created things that I never imagined that I could make. Every day we got to see the joy on the faces of the people we fed. The people we feed. That’s really the key to it all, isn’t it?

This loan is special because:

It supports an entrepreneur looking to increase the production of his sweets and confections.
