The city of Portoviejo, known as the city of the real tamarind that was affected by the earthquake on April 16, 2016, is located in the Río Portoviejo valley. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes and tropical fruit for domestic consumption.
Álvaro is 22 years old and single. He lives in his parent’s home. Álvaro works selling clothing that is made by his mother who is a clothing designer. She makes sports and dress clothes, uniforms and more. He makes his sales traveling around the city citadel area and the nearby areas. He sells on credit and charges every 15 days or monthly. He also sells from his home where they have a small space with all of the sewn clothing. He sells three times daily from Monday to Saturday and tends the store from 7:00am until 6:00pm.
He will use this new loan to buy fabric and thread and to pay for repairing the machines. What he likes about the credit group is their unity and the educational discussions. His dream is to expand his store, to buy more industrial machines and to have operators.
