Djiguiya Group's story

Seydou is holding the ram in this group photo. He cannot read or write and lives in Mali with his two wives and 10 children (5 girls and 5 boys) between the ages of 3-17 years old. Three of the children are in school. He has been raising sheep for seven years, and it has become his primary income-generating activity. He busy sheep, raises them, and resells them for a profit of 55,000 francs in order to cover his family's expenses. He buys and sells his sheep at the market in a neighboring community. His wives have small business and raise sheep.

Seydou is a punctual client who is seeking his third loan in order to be able to buy five sheep, cattle cake, and millet in order to continue his business and earn 100,000 francs in profit post-sales. This profit will allow him to cover family expenses (health care expenses, school fees, and clothing for the children). He hopes to be able to explore the largest market in the area to be able to sell his sheep.
