Víctor is the only male member of this group. He's 62-years old and in this community, everyone calls him "El Flaco" (term of endearment: the skinny one).
“When I was a child, I enjoyed going fishing with my father. He taught me how to swim", says a happy Victor, who has been fishing and selling mojarra (a type of bream) for 40 years. In order to run his business, he goes to the lagoon very early to return home at lunch and sell in the afternoons.
When Víctor started, he entered the lagoon by row boat, now, with his earnings, he's been able to invest in a motor for his boat, which makes it easier to fish, taking the net, mesh and baskets to transport the fish.
With this business, he's been able to cover the household expenses and support his son who lives with him and who on occasion helps him clean the fish.
Víctor is requesting a new loan to invest in thread, lead, hooks and the maintenance of his boat's motor.
